Next stop was to visit the Makam Nabi Ayub a.s. (Tomb of Prophet Job), which is also situated in the district of Hauran.
Nabi Ayub was the grandson of Nabi Ishak (Isaac) and his mother was the daughter of Nabi Lut (Lot). He was, therefore, the great grandson of Nabi Ibrahim (Abraham).
He was a very rich man, however, he was generous and pious. Forever thankful to the All Mighty. It was the challenge by the Satan to God that he would test Nabi Ayub of his patience. Nabi Ayub lost his riches, then lost all his children, and was inflicted with a disease that ostracized him from his community, but never once did he lost his faith in God.
He suffered for 18 years till God told him to hit the ground where a water spring emerged. With the water he bathed and drank which cured him of his illness. He was given back his health and children with his ever faithful wife, Rahmah.
His son, Nabi Zulkifli, was apparently buried beside him, as there were two tombs seen. We were also able to visit the Spring Water, situated in a nearby village, that water still flows from it, though the place is in a state of neglect.
